I'm Joe, a purpose-driven product manager, and I'm a pragmatist. I have a track record of shipping products that make the world a better place. From donating books to local schools to helping companies deliver the best ESG outcomes, I care about products that create value for people and society.
Empathy, empiricism and pragmatism are central to my product philosophy. Continuous discovery and stakeholder management are fundementals that ensure my product teams empathize with key user personas and deliver the right outcomes.
My product philosophy means I weigh up all my decisions based on data, user insights and evidence, and I'm not afraid to change course or pivot to make a product successful.

Coming soon...I truly believe pragmatism is essential for product managers, from solving user problems, to working with developers or designers, and managing business stakeholders. It's the key to influencing without authority and the best way to deliver results for users and the business.
I'm pragmatic when working with developers to remove blockers, make the right trade-offs and keep a new feature or product increment on track, by considering user value against the competing constraints of time, budget and scope.
I'm pragmatic when managing business stakeholders, always keen to understand their objectives and requirements, validate their assumptions and, when needed, have the confidence to say no, while articulating the value the product team will deliver.
And importantly, I'm pragmatic when interpreting user research, coming up with new ideas, building hypotheses, and testing those ideas with users.
